ABC Botswana has a track record of excellent service and growth, going back to 1986. It was incorporated as udc (Botswana) (Proprietary) Limited on 5 June 1986. The name was changed to ulc (Proprietary) Limited (ulc) on 23 October 1989 and commenced operations in 1990, primarily offering financial leasing services. ulc changed its name to African Banking Corporation of Botswana (Proprietary) Limited on 26 September 2001 and to the current name on 7 November 2002. The Bank of Botswana banking licence as a merchant and investment bank in the current name was issued on 29 November 2002.
