Zimbabwe

The African Banking Corporation of Zimbabwe Limited (ABCZ) offers tailored banking services to a wide range of customers, from corporates and multi-nationals, to non-governmental organizations, large investors and high net worth individuals. We provide clients with a professional banking experience and financial solutions that are specific and tailor-made to their individual requirements.

ABCZ is a strong and focused business bank that was created in 2000 through a process of mergers and acquisitions that began in 1995 with the formation of Heritage Investment Bank (HIB).

In July 1997, HIB merged with First Merchant Bank (FMB), then the largest and oldest merchant bank in Zimbabwe, established by Anglo American in 1956.

In February 2000, the merged entity acquired the Bard group of companies (comprising, securities trading, asset management, and unit trusts) as well as udc Holdings Limited (udc). FMB, BARD and udc were merged to create ABCZ, a cohesive and dynamic banking entity that is able to offer each of its valued clients the products and services that optimally meet their needs.
